Reviews
Have always enjoyed myself going to Outer Heaven. Some nights are inconsistent as far as vibes–first time was deep house and dancing which was great, the next time everyone was talking and using their phones while the DJ was spinning. Service is hit or miss, the dude with the long-hair/ponytail has always been great, however a few times there's confusion between the bartenders and the waitress as to where to order drinks (waitress told us to order at the bar, bartenders told us to order from the waitress, etc.). Drinks are on the pricier side ($24-26 cocktails) and are that amazing unfortunately. Sound system is unmatched, and the smaller crowd size makes it a really fun intimate spot. Congrats to Jack and the team.
Avoid! I usually don’t write reviews but me and my friend were not let in after waiting a hour in line because the guy at the door told us “there are too many white people in the club tonight so you can’t come in”. Keep in mind getting denied because it’s too crowded or there’s an event is fine but this is totally unacceptable. If you want to be disrespected, judged because of the color of your skin, and insulted by the staff this is the place to go to!
Our group of 7 just got turned down for no reason at all. It’s as if we looked funny to them. They said we had too big of a group. There’s 50 people in line. Aren’t we the same as all the other patrons in line waiting to be let in? Couldn’t we have come in in two groups of 3 and 4? Low blow outer heaven. Shameless and very odd. We’re offended. Way to demonstrate inclusivity…ZERO STARS
Great music, great lighting, and amazing vibe. The staff was super friendly. Loved the arcade games. They also have seating area if you need to rest your legs.
came on a wednesday night! the place has an amazing sound system, solid drinks ($22 cocktails), and a nice lounge vibe, making for a nice weekday date spot. will definitely be coming back on a fri/sat to see how the space/sound handles a larger crowd and a more bumping vibe
Great music and sound system- just wish they got more DJ’s on the decks. Solid drinks. Love the vibey lounge energy. Place will blow up soon, no doubt
This UFO club is a failure to launch. Overall a very flawed nightclub experience. The bouncers were curt and subjective - very much your standard for Manhattan. We got let in after a few mins at 2:40am. The main bouncer was dressed like a Resident Evil villain (perhaps a sign looking back now).
We asked the bartender for a cocktail list. “We don’t have one” was the response. I was disheartened, no creative UFO drinks?? I did not order and said “thanks anyway”. I was lost adrift in space by the lack of drink menu. Ground control to bartender, your list is gone there’s something wrong.
Arcade games were both are broken. Gun wires frayed on Terminator and the fighting game not configured to run properly (required nonexistent controller). Might want to check on those mgmt.
Dance floor indeed had nice lighting that created a nice UFO themed space. DJ was okay that night and there was ample space to dance but I imagine it gets crowded.
The clientele that the bouncers curate is disappointing. Your average Manhattan revelers with boring looks, basic clothes, and awful attitudes. You know the type. Rent’s high so we need their money, but wow do they all have to dress and act the same? Close Encounters of the Worst Kind (Finance bros).
I stayed until 4 dancing then phoned home. No cocktails, no arcade, no good patrons, but hey the lights were nice. We left and throttled into the LES night away from the pale, blue dot.
Terrible. People continuously coming out of the club (before 11:00pm) and wouldn't let anyone in for over 30 minutes with only 15 people in line Their so called "bouncer" was mute when people asked questions and hid behind his giant sunglasses on a power trip (I would be ashamed to show my face too with such behavior). Such a try hard bar. Take your money elsewhere and listen to your gut if you're unsure about coming.
The owner's responses to other poor reviews are that entrance is highly determined by bottle service. Well there was a group in front of me asking to buy bottle service and they were told they still had to wait in line so that's clearly an excuse.
